The 60,000 tons/year sulfur recovery unit is a relatively independent construction unit of Tianjin Petrochemical's 1 million tons/year ethylene and supporting projects. The biggest feature and function of this set of devices is environmental protection. Toxic and harmful gases such as hydrogen sulfide produced during the processing of crude oil in the upstream device are converted into chemical product sulfur after high-temperature combustion in this device, thereby greatly reducing the pollution caused by direct gas emission to the atmosphere. At present, the only small sulfur plant in Tianjin Petrochemical Company's production is already in an overloaded state, and the equipment is aging, and there are many potential safety hazards. For this reason, rushing to build a 60,000-ton/year sulfur recovery unit will not only relieve the safety and production pressure of the current refining unit, but also play a positive role in accelerating the pace of construction of the entire large-scale refinery engineering transformation. It is reported that after the official delivery on November 13, 2007, the device has successfully entered the preparation stage for driving. On February 5 this year, two furnaces were ignited and the system began to heat up. On February 15, with the opening of the boundary valve, the acid gas was introduced into the device, and all systems and processes in the device were opened up, and qualified sulfur products were successfully produced.
